Sokeda Forest is located in the western Negev, very close to Netivot and Sederot—and yes, close to Gaza. In February this forest and meadow landscape turns red because the kalaniyot, anemones, blanket the landscape. I believe, that this area is also called Darom Adom-south red. Yes, the Negev is desert…and I do not understand why this part is green with trees…but I also know that come spring into summer the flowers will be long gone and the green will turn to brown dirt!
